Come and join me, August 17 at 6 pm at the Jonesville District Library as I tell the tale of how The Recipe Exchange column came into being and also of the creation of my cookbooks, Farmhouse Cooking, Country Cooking and Country Breads. Its been an exciting, amazing and sometimes frustrating journey. There will be a book signing and sale following. The Library is located at 310 Church Street, Jonesville, MI. I hope to see you there.
I am pleased to announce that three pieces of my Photographic Light Painting will be included in the ART 634 2nd Sunday BLUE EVENT. The artist’s reception will be held on July 10th from noon until 4 pm. Please come and enjoy the many varieties of art along with some good food and spirits. All of the art will be on display for one month. ART 634 is located at 634 N. Mechanic Street, Jackson, Michigan. I hope to see you there!
I am pleased to announce that my artistic photograph, Piano with Apples will be included in the 2016 Statewide Fine Art Competition at Ella Sharp Museum beginning July 2nd and lasting through September 25th. Please come and enjoy all of the amazing entries on display. The artist’s reception will be July 2nd from 2 pm – 4 pm with the awards announcement at 2:30 pm. Come and join me at the 26th Annual Brooklyn Kiwanis Arts and Craft Show this Saturday, October 24th at the Columbia Elementary School at 321 School Street in Brooklyn. The hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
I will be in booth 406 – midway in the south hallway – featuring my photographic art and, if there is enough room, my cookbooks: Country Cooking and Farmhouse Cooking.
I will be at the Manitou Beach Farmer’s Market, at the corner of Devils Lake Highway and Manitou Beach Road, this Saturday, June 20th, from 8 a.m. until noon, with my cookbooks and photographic art. The farmer’s market is running in conjunction with the Devils Lake Festival of the Art.

I feel so privileged to announce that this piece of my photographic art, A Study in Pink, will be on display as an entry in the Greater Lansing Orchid Society show in the Plant and Soil Conservancy on the MSU Campus in East Lansing, Michigan this coming weekend. The show dates and times are: Saturday, February 28th from 11 am to 5 pm, with judging of art at noon. Sunday, March 1st from 11 am to 4 pm. If you are in the area, I hope you get a chance to stop in. The orchids are beautiful and the art is amazing.
Several of my photos are included in the Jackson Camera Club display at the east branch (on Michigan Ave, just west of Meijer) of the Jackson County Library. If you get the chance, please stop in. The club has several very talented photographers and their work is phenomenal.

Coldwater’s Applefest 2014 is looking to be a fun and entertaining festival. I will have a booth in front of House of Beauty on Chicago Street (US 12), selling both of my cookbooks and hopefully (depending on the wind and rain forecast), I’ll also have a display of my photographic art. I was a vendor at this festival two years ago and had a wonderful time. Main street was full people enjoying a variety of arts, crafts and good things to eat. The Coldwater Area of Commerce does an amazing job of coordinating all aspects of the festival.
Come and enjoy the Grass Lake Heritage Festival on Saturday, September 6th. The festival runs from 10 am to 4 pm. I will be in booth 32, on the east end of Michigan Ave, just east of Lake Street, with both of my cookbooks and possibly my photos too. I would love it if you’d stop by and say HI.
I will be a vendor at the Manitou Beach Farmers Market, from 8 am to noon on the last 3 Saturdays in August, the 16th, 23rd and 30th, with my cookbooks and photographic: art. The Market is located at 290 Devils Lake Highway, right next to the Lighthouse building ( Devils Lake View Living). I hope you get a chance stop by and check out not just the Farmer’s Market, but the renovated Manitou Beach district, complete with a great coffee & ice cream shop, gift shops and restaurant. The huge US 12 & US 127 yard sale was so much fun! I want to thank everyone who came out and stopped by my booth. It was so good to see you all.
I’m going to be a vendor in the parking lot of Little Shoppes, located 1/2 mile west of US 127 on US 12, next Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the HUGE US127 – US12 yard sale. I’ll have both of my cookbooks, County Cooking and Farmhouse Cooking, on hand for sale. And, depending on the weather, I’ll also have a display of my photographic art, also for sale. I’m happy to say that, I’ve been invited to speak at the Inter-Lakes Lions Club meeting on February 10th about how my column, The Recipe Exchange, came into being. The meeting begins at 6:30 and is in the Somerset Center community Building. I am excited to share my story and want to thank Barbara McNutt for this opportunity. This year is going to end on a wonderful note. My several of my photographs will be on display as part of an exhibit by the Jackson Camera Club in the East-End Jackson District Library located at 3125 E. Michigan Ave, Jackson, MI. The exhibit begins on December 30th and runs through the month of January. I hope you have a chance to stop in and enjoy the amazing variety of photographic art.
